When the Epson ET-2870 reaches its maintenance threshold, Epson firmware may block printing as a safeguard. In most cases, this is resolved with a counter reset.
During head cleaning and maintenance cycles, excess ink is routed to internal absorber pads. The Epson ET-2870 uses a software counter to estimate pad saturation and locks printing at a set threshold.

Reset Epson ET-2870 Waste Ink Counter in 3 Steps
- Fase 1: Connect Epson ET-2870 to a Windows computer with a stable Internet connection using a USB cable.
