The problem

The counter behind the Epson L4158 warning

The printer protects against possible ink overflow by monitoring an internal service counter. On Epson L4158, reaching the threshold can trigger an ink pad warning and block further jobs.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L4158. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson L4158

The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for L4158 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson L4158 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L4158.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: After the program confirms completion, close it, turn Epson L4158 off for about 10 seconds and switch it on again. The maintenance lock should be cleared.
If Epson L4158 is not detected
  • Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
  • Install the original Epson driver for L4158; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
