The problem

The counter behind the Epson B30 warning

During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson B30 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson B30. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson B30

Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for B30 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson B30 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson B30.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: A successful reset is finalized by switching Epson B30 off and on. The printer should then accept jobs normally.
If Epson B30 is not detected
  • Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
  • Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
  • Install the original Epson driver for B30; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
