Epson M1128 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Before resetting Epson M1128
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson M1128 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.

Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for M1128 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson M1128 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson M1128.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson M1128 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for M1128; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
