Canon G5010 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon G5010 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Why Canon G5010 reports an absorber error
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon G5010 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G5010. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G5010
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon G5010

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G5010 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G5010 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
