Before resetting Epson EP-804A
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson EP-804A has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.

Reset the counter in Epson EP-804A
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for EP-804A and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson EP-804A to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson EP-804A.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson EP-804A is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Install the original Epson driver for EP-804A; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
