Epson L3261 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson L3261 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
The counter behind the Epson L3261 warning
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson L3261 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L3261. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson L3261
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for L3261 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson L3261 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L3261.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson L3261 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
