Epson ET-2403 Reset Waste Ink Counter
The service-required message on Epson ET-2403 often relates to the internal waste ink counter rather than an empty cartridge or paper fault. The steps below help you confirm and resolve that condition.
The counter behind the Epson ET-2403 warning
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson ET-2403 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-2403. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-2403
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-2403 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-2403 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-2403.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-2403 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-2403; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson ET-2403 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
