Canon MG5610 Ink Absorber Full Reset
If Canon MG5610 displays an ink absorber full or service-required warning, the stored waste ink counter may have reached its limit. This guide covers service mode, USB preparation and the reset itself.
Understanding the Canon MG5610 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MG5610 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.

Reset the counter in Canon MG5610
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon MG5610 has entered service mode successfully.

Connect Canon MG5610 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG5610 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon MG5610 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.

Does Canon MG5610 require service mode?
Yes. The printer must expose its maintenance interface before the counter can be reset with Wic Reset Connect.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
