The problem

What stops Canon MG5100 from printing

Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon MG5100 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG5100. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Reset the counter in Canon MG5100

Service mode must be entered correctly before Wic Reset Connect can communicate with the maintenance interface. Resolve other printer errors first.

  1. Prepare the printer

Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

  2. Connect directly by USB

    Connect Canon MG5100 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.

Finish correctly: Do not unplug the USB cable while data is being written. Restart Canon MG5100 only when Wic Reset Connect confirms completion.
