Epson XP-302 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson XP-302 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
The counter behind the Epson XP-302 warning
The printer protects against possible ink overflow by monitoring an internal service counter. On Epson XP-302, reaching the threshold can trigger an ink pad warning and block further jobs.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-302. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-302
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-302 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-302 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-302.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-302 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
