Epson TX400 Reset Waste Ink Counter
A waste ink counter warning can prevent Epson TX400 from printing even when the printer is otherwise working normally. Follow the checks and reset sequence below to restore operation safely.
Before resetting Epson TX400
An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson TX400 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson TX400. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson TX400
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for TX400 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson TX400 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson TX400.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson TX400 is not detected
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.

Does Epson TX400 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
