Epson L100 Reset Waste Ink Counter

Epson L100 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.

The problem

Why the ink pad counter blocks Epson L100

During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson L100 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L100. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson L100

Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for L100 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson L100 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L100.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: When the success message appears, restart Epson L100. Allow Windows to detect the printer again before sending a test page.
If Epson L100 is not detected
  • Install the original Epson driver for L100; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
  • Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

Common questions

Epson L100 reset FAQ

What if the first reset attempt fails?

Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?

No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.

How long does the reset take?

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
