Epson XP-2101 Reset Waste Ink Counter
If your Epson XP-2101 has stopped with an ink pad or service-life warning, the printer may have reached its waste ink counter limit. This model-specific guide explains what the message means and how to complete the reset with Wic Reset Connect.
Why Epson XP-2101 stops printing
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson XP-2101 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-2101. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-2101
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-2101 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-2101 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-2101.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-2101 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-2101; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
