Epson WorkForce 600 Reset Waste Ink Counter
The service-required message on Epson WorkForce 600 often relates to the internal waste ink counter rather than an empty cartridge or paper fault. The steps below help you confirm and resolve that condition.
Before resetting Epson WorkForce 600
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson WorkForce 600 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson WorkForce 600. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson WorkForce 600
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.
-
Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for WorkForce 600 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.
-
Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson WorkForce 600 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.
-
Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson WorkForce 600.
-
Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson WorkForce 600 is not detected
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for WorkForce 600; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
Epson WorkForce 600 reset FAQ
Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson WorkForce 600 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
