Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson SX210 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.

Reset the counter in Epson SX210
Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for SX210 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson SX210 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson SX210.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson SX210 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for SX210; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does Epson SX210 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
