Epson ET-2402 Reset Waste Ink Counter
If your Epson ET-2402 has stopped with an ink pad or service-life warning, the printer may have reached its waste ink counter limit. This model-specific guide explains what the message means and how to complete the reset with Wic Reset Connect.
The counter behind the Epson ET-2402 warning
Epson ET-2402 uses stored counter data to estimate absorber usage. The estimate may reach its limit before the pads appear completely saturated, but physical maintenance should still be considered.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-2402. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-2402
Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-2402 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-2402 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-2402.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-2402 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-2402; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson ET-2402 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
