Epson XP-631 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson XP-631 may refuse new print jobs after estimating that the waste ink pads have reached their service limit. Wic Reset Connect can reset the software counter after the printer is prepared correctly.
Before resetting Epson XP-631
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson XP-631 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-631. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-631
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-631 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-631 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-631.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-631 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-631; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
Can I reset Epson XP-631 over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
Does Epson XP-631 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
