Epson XP-305 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson XP-305 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Understanding the Epson XP-305 waste ink warning
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson XP-305 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-305. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-305
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-305 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-305 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-305.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-305 is not detected
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-305; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

Can I reset Epson XP-305 over Wi-Fi?
No. Wic Reset Connect requires a direct USB connection to the Windows computer.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson XP-305 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
