Epson ET-2761 Reset Waste Ink Counter
When Epson ET-2761 reports that an ink pad needs service, restarting the printer alone normally does not clear the lock. A compatible reset procedure is required.
What the Epson ET-2761 service message means
Epson ET-2761 uses stored counter data to estimate absorber usage. The estimate may reach its limit before the pads appear completely saturated, but physical maintenance should still be considered.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson ET-2761. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson ET-2761
Complete these steps in order. A direct USB connection and the original Epson driver are essential for reliable communication.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for ET-2761 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson ET-2761 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson ET-2761.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson ET-2761 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for ET-2761; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.

How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
Does Epson ET-2761 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
