Canon MG5720 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon MG5720 reports that the ink absorber is full, turning it off and on will not normally remove the lock. The printer must be prepared correctly and its counter reset.
Before resetting Canon MG5720
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MG5720 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG5720. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG5720
- Turn the printer off.

Connect Canon MG5720 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG5720 is not detected
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Connect Canon MG5720 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
