Understanding the Epson R2880 waste ink warning
Epson R2880 uses stored counter data to estimate absorber usage. The estimate may reach its limit before the pads appear completely saturated, but physical maintenance should still be considered.

Reset the counter in Epson R2880

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for R2880 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson R2880 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson R2880.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson R2880 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for R2880; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.

What if the first reset attempt fails?
Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
Does Epson R2880 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
