Epson L380 Reset Waste Ink Counter

Epson L380 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.

The problem

Understanding the Epson L380 waste ink warning

An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson L380 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L380. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson L380

Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for L380 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson L380 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L380.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: After the program confirms completion, close it, turn Epson L380 off for about 10 seconds and switch it on again. The maintenance lock should be cleared.
If Epson L380 is not detected
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
  • Install the original Epson driver for L380; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
