The problem

Understanding the Epson L363 waste ink warning

An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson L363 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson L363. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Epson L363

Prepare the computer and connection first. Most unsuccessful attempts are caused by a missing original driver, an indirect USB connection or another Epson utility using the printer.

  1. Install the original driver

Install the official Epson driver for L363 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

  2. Connect directly by USB

Connect Epson L363 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson L363.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.

Finish correctly: When the success message appears, restart Epson L363. Allow Windows to detect the printer again before sending a test page.
If Epson L363 is not detected
  • Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
  • Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
  • Install the original Epson driver for L363; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
  • Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
