Understanding the Canon TR8070 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon TR8070 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TR8070 is not detected
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Connect Canon TR8070 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
