Canon TR8040 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon TR8040 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Before resetting Canon TR8040
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon TR8040 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TR8040. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TR8040
- Turn the printer off.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TR8040 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Connect Canon TR8040 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
