Canon MP560 Ink Absorber Full Reset

An absorber warning on Canon MP560 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.

The problem

Why Canon MP560 reports an absorber error

An absorber message concerns both software and maintenance. The counter can be reset, while heavily saturated pads may still need cleaning or replacement.

Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MP560. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.

Step by step

Reset the counter in Canon MP560

Work through the sequence without rushing. Incorrect button timing or a blinking power light means the printer is not ready for the counter reset.

  1. Prepare the printer

Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

  2. Connect directly by USB

    Connect Canon MP560 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

  3. Start Wic Reset Connect

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

  4. Enter the key and reset

Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.

Finish correctly: Wait for the success message, close Wic Reset Connect and switch Canon MP560 off for about 10 seconds. Turn it on normally to reload the updated counter value.
If Canon MP560 is not detected
  • Connect Canon MP560 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
  • Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
  • If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
  • Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
