Canon MG6530 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon MG6530 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Before resetting Canon MG6530
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MG6530 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG6530. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG6530
- Turn the printer off.
- Premir e manter premido Parar/Reiniciar.
- Enquanto mantém premido Stop/Reset, prima e mantenha premido Potência.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 6 vezes.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MG6530
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon MG6530 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG6530 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG6530 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon MG6530 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Does Canon MG6530 require service mode?
Yes. The printer must expose its maintenance interface before the counter can be reset with Wic Reset Connect.
What if my reset key was used during a failed attempt?
Correct the cause first, then use the new-key generator or contact support for assistance.
