The waste ink counter inside Canon MG4170
Canon MG4170 uses a stored counter as a maintenance safeguard. Reaching the threshold can produce an Ink Absorber Full, Service Required or related support-code message.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG4170. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG4170
- Turn the printer off.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG4170 is not detected
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Connect Canon MG4170 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
