Canon MG3140 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon MG3140 can stop printing when its internal ink absorber counter reaches a programmed threshold. Follow the model-specific preparation below before using Wic Reset Connect.
What the Canon MG3140 service message means
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon MG3140 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG3140. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG3140
- Turn the printer off.

- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 6 vezes.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MG3140
Check cartridges, close Canon utilities and connect the printer directly to Windows before beginning the reset.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG3140 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG3140 is not detected
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon MG3140 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Does Canon MG3140 require service mode?
