Canon MB2390 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon MB2390 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Before resetting Canon MB2390
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon MB2390 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MB2390. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MB2390
- Turn the printer off.
- Premir e manter premido Parar/Reiniciar.
- Enquanto mantém premido Stop/Reset, prima e mantenha premido Potência.
- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 vezes.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MB2390
Service mode must be entered correctly before Wic Reset Connect can communicate with the maintenance interface. Resolve other printer errors first.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MB2390 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MB2390 is not detected
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Connect Canon MB2390 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.

Does Canon MB2390 require service mode?
Yes. The printer must expose its maintenance interface before the counter can be reset with Wic Reset Connect.
Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
