Epson XP-202 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson XP-202 records cleaning cycles and waste ink usage in an internal counter. When that value reaches its programmed limit, printing can stop until the counter is reset.
Why Epson XP-202 stops printing
Waste ink produced by cleaning cycles is collected inside the printer. Epson XP-202 tracks those cycles electronically and can stop printing when the calculated limit is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson XP-202. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson XP-202
The reset normally takes only a few minutes, but the printer must be detected correctly before the key is used.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-202 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson XP-202 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-202.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-202 is not detected
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
