Epson Artisan 730 Reset Waste Ink Counter
If your Epson Artisan 730 has stopped with an ink pad or service-life warning, the printer may have reached its waste ink counter limit. This model-specific guide explains what the message means and how to complete the reset with Wic Reset Connect.
Before resetting Epson Artisan 730
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson Artisan 730 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson Artisan 730. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson Artisan 730
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for Artisan 730 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson Artisan 730 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson Artisan 730.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson Artisan 730 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Install the original Epson driver for Artisan 730; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

Does Epson Artisan 730 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
What if the first reset attempt fails?

Does the reset clean or replace the ink pads?
