The waste ink system in Canon IB4140 collects ink used during cleaning cycles. Once the estimated limit is reached, service mode and a compatible counter reset may be required.

Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon IB4140 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon IB4140. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon IB4140
- Turn the printer off.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon IB4140 is not detected
- Connect Canon IB4140 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.

No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
