Epson TX101 Reset Waste Ink Counter
The service-required message on Epson TX101 often relates to the internal waste ink counter rather than an empty cartridge or paper fault. The steps below help you confirm and resolve that condition.
Before resetting Epson TX101
During head cleaning and normal maintenance, unused ink is directed into internal absorber pads. Epson TX101 estimates that accumulation with a software counter; it does not directly measure the physical amount of ink in the pads.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson TX101. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson TX101
Start with the connection checks below, then run the reset without opening other printer programs during the process.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for TX101 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson TX101 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson TX101.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson TX101 is not detected
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.

Does Epson TX101 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
