What the Epson RX640 service message means
The printer protects against possible ink overflow by monitoring an internal service counter. On Epson RX640, reaching the threshold can trigger an ink pad warning and block further jobs.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for RX640 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson RX640 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson RX640.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson RX640 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for RX640; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
