Canon IB4120 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon IB4120 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Understanding the Canon IB4120 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon IB4120 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon IB4120. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon IB4120
- Turn the printer off.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon IB4120 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon IB4120 is not detected
- Connect Canon IB4120 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
