An ink pad message is a maintenance safeguard. It indicates that Epson DX7400 has reached a stored waste ink value that must be reset before normal printing can resume.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson DX7400. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson DX7400
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for DX7400 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson DX7400 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson DX7400.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson DX7400 is not detected
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Install the original Epson driver for DX7400; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.

Does Epson DX7400 need service mode?
No. Epson printers do not use the Canon service-mode sequence. Connect the printer normally by USB.
How long does the reset take?
The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.

Correct the driver or USB communication problem first. If the key was consumed, use the new-key generator or contact support.
