Epson DX4050 Reset Waste Ink Counter
Epson DX4050 may refuse new print jobs after estimating that the waste ink pads have reached their service limit. Wic Reset Connect can reset the software counter after the printer is prepared correctly.
What the Epson DX4050 service message means
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson DX4050 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson DX4050. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson DX4050
Use the sequence below to establish a stable USB connection and clear the waste ink counter.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for DX4050 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson DX4050 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson DX4050.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson DX4050 is not detected
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Install the original Epson driver for DX4050; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep the internet connection active throughout validation.

The reset itself usually finishes in about 1–2 minutes after the printer has been detected correctly.
