Canon TR160 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon TR160 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Understanding the Canon TR160 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon TR160 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.

How to enter service mode on Canon TR160
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon TR160

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TR160 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TR160 is not detected
- Connect Canon TR160 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
