Canon PRO-500 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Understanding the Canon PRO-500 ink absorber warning
Waste ink is routed away from the print head and retained inside the printer. The firmware in Canon PRO-500 calculates usage and may stop new jobs to reduce overflow risk.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon PRO-500. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon PRO-500
- Turn the printer off.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon PRO-500 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon PRO-500 is not detected
- Connect Canon PRO-500 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
