Canon G1400 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon G1400 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
The waste ink counter inside Canon G1400
The absorber pads collect ink generated during print-head cleaning. Canon G1400 tracks those maintenance cycles in memory rather than measuring the pads directly.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon G1400. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon G1400
- Turn the printer off.

- Press and release Stop/Reset 5 fois.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon G1400
The counter reset normally takes only a few minutes after Canon G1400 has entered service mode successfully.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon G1400 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon G1400 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.

Does Canon G1400 require service mode?
Yes. The printer must expose its maintenance interface before the counter can be reset with Wic Reset Connect.
Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
No. Use a direct USB connection between the printer and a Windows computer.
