Understanding the Epson EP-904A waste ink warning
Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson EP-904A adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Epson EP-904A. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
Reset the counter in Epson EP-904A
Correct preparation protects the reset key from being used during a failed communication attempt. Verify each requirement before selecting Reset.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for EP-904A and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Epson EP-904A to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson EP-904A.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson EP-904A is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for EP-904A; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Close Epson Status Monitor and any other Epson maintenance software before starting Wic Reset Connect.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
