Canon MP190 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon MP190 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Why Canon MP190 reports an absorber error
Cleaning operations send unused ink into absorber pads inside the printer. Canon MP190 estimates their usage with an electronic counter and can lock printing when that value reaches its limit.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MP190. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MP190
- Turn the printer off.
- Mantenga pulsado Parar/Restablecer.

- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 2 veces.

Prepare the printer

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MP190 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MP190 is not detected
- Connect Canon MP190 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
