Canon MG6865 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon MG6865 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Understanding the Canon MG6865 ink absorber warning
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MG6865 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon MG6865. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon MG6865
- Turn the printer off.
- Mantenga pulsado Parar/Restablecer.

- Release Stop/Reset but keep holding Power.
- Press and release Stop/Reset 6 veces.
- Wait briefly, then release Power. The power indicator should remain steadily lit.
Reset the counter in Canon MG6865
Prepare Canon MG6865 before entering the key. A stable service-mode state and direct USB connection are essential.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG6865 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG6865 is not detected
- Connect Canon MG6865 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and keep internet access active for key validation.
