Canon MG7766 Ink Absorber Full Reset
When Canon MG7766 triggers an ink absorber full condition, the printer may block printing as a protective measure. The solution is typically a waste ink counter reset.
During head cleaning, surplus ink is routed to internal absorber pads. Canon MG7766 monitors this via a counter and can lock printing at a threshold.
This page is prepared for Canon MG7766. Service mode instructions are shown only when a matching series procedure is known.
Common Symptoms
- ‘Ink Absorber Full’ / ‘Service Required’ message
- Support/service code (varies by series)
- Printing blocked after cleaning cycles
- Reset required to continue printing
How to Enter Service Mode on Canon MG7766
If your Canon MG7766 supports service mode reset, follow the steps below before performing the counter reset.
- Turn the printer OFF.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset (keep holding Power).
- Press Stop/Reset 6 times.
- Release Power — the printer should enter service mode.
If it doesn’t work, repeat the sequence carefully. The press count depends on the series.
Finalize the Reset and Restore Printing
Once the counter is cleared, Canon MG7766 should exit the locked state and printing should resume normally.
Before You Continue
If absorber pads are truly saturated, ignoring maintenance can lead to ink leakage inside the printer. The counter reset only removes the software lock.
