Canon GM2010 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon GM2010 can lock printing when the waste ink (ink absorber) counter hits a predefined threshold. This guide explains how to reset it.
Ink absorber pads store waste ink during normal operation. Canon firmware tracks this using a software counter and may stop printing when it reaches the limit.
This page is prepared for Canon GM2010. Service mode instructions are shown only when a matching series procedure is known.
How to Enter Service Mode on Canon GM2010
To access maintenance functions, Canon GM2010 may need to be placed in service mode first.
- Turn the printer OFF.
- Press and hold Stop/Reset.
- While holding Stop/Reset, press and hold Power.
- Release Stop/Reset (keep holding Power).
- Press Stop/Reset 5 times.
- Release Power — the printer should enter service mode.
If it doesn’t work, repeat the sequence carefully. The press count depends on the series.
Finalize the Reset and Restore Printing
Once the counter is cleared, Canon GM2010 should exit the locked state and printing should resume normally.
Before You Continue
Resetting the counter does not physically clean the absorber pads. For heavy usage, pads may eventually need cleaning or replacement.
Need a reset solution?
If your model does not show a service mode section, it means no matching procedure was found for its series.
Troubleshooting
- Power-cycle the printer and try again.
- Try a different USB cable/port if using PC software.
- Repeat the service mode steps carefully (timing matters).
- Close other Canon printer utilities while resetting.
- Use the correct Stop/Reset press count for your series.
