Every cleaning cycle sends a small amount of ink to the waste ink system. Epson XP-312 adds that activity to its counter and displays a maintenance warning when the programmed threshold is reached.

Install the original driver
Install the official Epson driver for XP-312 and confirm that Windows can see the printer.

Connect Epson XP-312 to the computer without Wi-Fi, a hub or an adapter.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Close Epson Status Monitor, run Wic Reset Connect as Administrator and select Epson XP-312.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, choose Reset and keep the printer connected until completion.
If Epson XP-312 is not detected
- Install the original Epson driver for XP-312; a generic Windows driver may not expose the required communication interface.
- Clear paused print jobs and restart both the printer and Windows if another program is holding the USB connection.
- Connect the printer directly to the computer. Do not use Wi-Fi, a USB hub, docking station or print server.
- Try another USB port and a known data-capable USB cable if the printer is not detected.

What if the first reset attempt fails?

No. It changes the stored counter value. Inspect, clean or replace the physical waste ink system when its condition requires it.
