Canon TR8530 Ink Absorber Full Reset
Canon TR8530 may block print jobs after recording enough cleaning and maintenance cycles. Use the sequence below to enter service mode and reset the stored value.
Before resetting Canon TR8530
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon TR8530 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.
Wic Reset Connect is designed to reset the compatible counter in Canon TR8530. The physical waste ink system should still be inspected and maintained when necessary.
How to enter service mode on Canon TR8530
- Turn the printer off.

Reset the counter in Canon TR8530
Prepare Canon TR8530 before entering the key. A stable service-mode state and direct USB connection are essential.

Prepare the printer
Resolve other errors, confirm a steady power light and enter service mode using the sequence above.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon TR8530 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Start Wic Reset Connect
Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon TR8530 is not detected
- Connect Canon TR8530 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- If the power light blinks, resolve the displayed cartridge, paper or mechanical error before trying service mode again.

Does the reset clean the ink absorber?
No. It resets the stored counter. Inspect, clean or replace the absorber pads when their physical condition requires maintenance.
Does Canon TR8530 require service mode?

Can I perform the reset over Wi-Fi?
