Canon MG5721 Ink Absorber Full Reset
An absorber warning on Canon MG5721 does not necessarily mean that the printer is mechanically damaged. The software counter and the physical pads must be considered separately.
Why Canon MG5721 reports an absorber error
The lock is based on accumulated maintenance activity. Resetting Canon MG5721 changes the counter value but does not remove ink already held in the absorber material.

How to enter service mode on Canon MG5721
- Turn the printer off.

Connect directly by USB
Connect Canon MG5721 to a Windows 7, 8, 10 or 11 computer without Wi-Fi or a USB hub.

Run the program as Administrator and wait until the Canon service-mode device is detected.

Enter the key and reset
Enter the purchased key, select Reset and keep the printer connected until confirmation appears.
If Canon MG5721 is not detected
- Repeat the button sequence at a steady pace; releasing Power too early is a common reason service mode fails.
- If Windows does not detect a service-mode device, restart the printer normally, wait 10 seconds and repeat the preparation.
- Close Canon maintenance utilities and clear paused print jobs before opening Wic Reset Connect.
- Connect Canon MG5721 directly to the computer and try another data-capable USB cable or port.
